Trypsin-EDTA reagent is used to detach cells from culture vessel surfaces. American Bioinnovations’s Trypsin-EDTA is derived from porcine pancreas. Trypsin solutions come as 0.025% or 0.5%. The choice of Trysin-EDTA concentration to use is dependent on cell line, the cell line’s age and incubation time. Each cell line should be tested at the two concentrations because prolonged incubation and trypsin treatment may affect cell fidelity and viability.
